Diagnostic Imaging Centers, P.A. is dedicated to providing the most complete and accurate medical imaging in the greater Kansas City area with a commitment to technological innovation, compassionate patient care, and maintaining a professional and responsive relationship with the health care community.

Digital Mammography and Breast MRI available at DIC’s Newest Lee’s Summit office


We are excited to announce that the Lee’s Summit office has relocated and expanded to the Legacy Ridge Medical Plaza at 301 NE Mulberry, #100; located just East of NE Douglas and 470 Highway.

Digital Mammography and Breast MRI now available. Breast MRI is an advanced non-invasive means of evaluating breast tissue. It is usually used in conjunction with mammography and breast ultrasound and is particularly valuable in the following settings:

  • evaluation of women with recently diagnosed breast cancer, undergoing preoperative evaluation.
  • evaluating women with known breast cancer, assessing for either new or recurrent cancer.
  • evaluating women with significantly elevated breast cancer risk factors including screening in women who are known or likely carriers of the BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutation.

Cardiac CT Angiography (CCTA) now available at DIC's Overland Park office:

- CCTA directly detects coronary artery blockages and is an important new tool available to guide clinical management of those patients with chest pain and significant coronary risk factors.

- This imaging information was previously only obtained through the use of catheter angiography. Although not a replacement for all cardiac catherization, CCTA offers several advantages including circumvention of the risks inherent in cardiac catherization.

- DIC also offers Coronary Calcium Scoring, a less expensive, quick screening examination of the heart. Coronary Calcium Scoring CT exams detect the calcification oftentimes present within areas of coronary artery plaque formation and associated blockage.

Women's Imaging at DIC

DIC recognizes the special imaging needs of women and has always been committed to the provision of state of the art Women's Imaging.  

We recognize that timely breast care is important to women and therefore provide mammography results to the patient immediately following the examination. In those instances where additional mammography images or breast sonography is necessary, we offer these tests the same day, saving the patient a return visit and additional time waiting for results.

Leading edge women’s imaging including Digital mammography at our Overland Park, Independence, Lee's Summit, North and Plaza offices is available. In addition, Breast MRI is available at our newly relocated Lee’s Summit office.

Included in our women’s imaging, we offer hysterosalpingogram studies, as well as high resolution Ultrasound, including 4D fetal imaging and hysterosonograms.

Diagnostic Imaging Centers continues to be involved with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Founded in 1982, the foundation’s mission is to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease by advancing research, education, screening and treatment. 2007 will mark the 25 year anniversary for this global leader in the fight against breast cancer.

DIC has been involved since the first Kansas City Race for the Cure® in 1993. DIC once again sponsored the Annual Komen Luncheon to Celebrate Breast Cancer Survivors on May 28, 2007, with a sold out attendance of 1200. This was the 10-year anniversary for this event, and the 7th consecutive year DIC has been the presenting sponsor.

Status as an accredited organization means DIC has passed a series of rigorous and nationally recognized standards for the provision of quality health care set by the Accreditation Association
