July 2007: DIC installs 64-slice CT scanner and offers Cardiac CT Angiography (CCTA) at Overland Park office

- CCTA directly detects coronary artery blockages and is an important new tool available to guide clinical management of those patients with chest pain and significant coronary risk factors.

- DIC also offers Coronary Calcium Scoring, a less expensive, quick screening examination of the heart.  Coronary Calcium Scoring CT exams detect the calcification oftentimes present within areas of coronary artery plaque formation and associated blockage.

May 2007: New Lee’s Summit office opens
High Field 1.5 MRI / MRA · Multislice CT/CTA

Coronary Calcium Scoring · Ultrasound/Vascular Ultrasound · X-Ray · Bone Density · Fluoroscopy · Nuclear Medicine

April 2006: Digital Mammography is now available at our Independence office!
Digital Mammography is now available at our Independence office as well as our Overland Park, Plaza and North locations.

At Diagnostic Imaging Centers, for over thirty years, we’ve made women’s health – specifically breast health – one of the cornerstones of our practice. We were first to introduce digital mammography in Kansas City.

Our Independence, North, Overland Park and Plaza Digital Mammography systems are linked allowing us to compare to prior digital mammograms regardless of where the examination was previously performed.

August 2005:
New Multislice CT Scanners at Overland Park and Independence offices
MRI Hardware and Software enhancements at Overland Park and Plaza offices

Multi-slice CT
Two new Multi-slice CT scanners have been installed in our Overland Park and Independence Imaging Centers, respectively. This adds to the compliment of Multi-slice CT scanners already present in our Plaza and North Imaging Centers.

Multi-slice scanners enable significantly shortened scan times, increased resolution and increased weight limits. This combination of speed and resolution greatly enhances our ability to obtain detailed CT angiograms of all vessels within the body and is typically used to evaluate the carotid and cerebral vasculature in the setting of carotid bruits and stroke as well as the aorta and lower extremities in the setting of vascular disease.

High Field MRI
State of the Art GE Excite® technology enhancements have been added to our Overland Park 1.5T High Field MRI making it the first in Kansas City to offer this particular MRI technology allowing unprecedented scanning speed, resolution and image detail. This new technology impacts all MRI exams and is particularly beneficial when imaging the abdomen, pelvis and arterial system.

Significant hardware and software enhancements are also being added to the Plaza 1.5T High Field MRI resulting in increased speed and image detail in all types of MR examinations.

July 2005:

Diagnostic Imaging Centers, P.A. Opens Plaza Office
The new Diagnostic Imaging Centers Plaza office represents the culmination of years of refined radiological practice and expertise. The design and implementation of this office reflects the collective wisdom and experience of the 16 Diagnostic Imaging Centers radiologists in collaboration with Diagnostic Imaging Centers management team and HWA architects.

This office, the newest of seven Diagnostic Imaging Centers offices, occupies the second floor of the new Plaza Colonnade office building at the southeast corner of Ward Parkway and Main Street, just south of and overlooking Brush Creek and the Country Club Plaza. The lowermost level of this building is home to the new Kansas City Public Library.

The northern and eastern exposures of this office offer an expansive view of the Plaza and Brush Creek corridor. The reception area and many of the examination rooms take full advantage of this view allowing for a bright and open environment by which to undergo an imaging examination. Tastefully decorated sub waiting and dressing areas provide relatively private space for those undergoing examination preps.

The Plaza office as been outfitted with the latest imaging technologies available. This includes high-resolution ultrasound and state of the art full field Digital Mammography systems: the best technology has to offer particularly with regards to Women’s Imaging.

A state-of-the-art 16 Multislice CT scanner, 1.5 T high field MR and the Plaza’s first 0.35T open MR provide uncompromised resolution in the imaging of neurological, musculoskeletal, chest, abdominal and pelvic organ systems. CT and MR angiography and Coronary Calcium Screening can also be performed by these systems. Lastly, conventional X-ray, Fluoroscopy, and Bone Mineral Density Testing are available.
