Random Acts of Kindness Week

Random Acts of Kindness Week

It’s the second week of February –  already!? Are you doing anything to celebrate? (And no we don’t mean celebrating that heart and flowers day…)

It’s Random Acts of Kindness Week! What a great thing to celebrate and participate in! And – get this – it’s good for you(!). Check this out:

The whole week is an opportunity for being a difference-maker. The week is the brainchild of some very cool people. While the idea of acting kindly isn’t an original one, the idea of a week focusing on acts of kindness to better our world is a recent one. The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation’s mission statement is straightforward.

“The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation inspires people to practice kindness and to pass it on to others. We provide free educational and community ideas, guidance and other resources to kindness participants through our website.”

They make being kind easier, and dare we say, more fun! We highly recommend taking advantage of their resources.

Why are we such huge proponents of kindness? Because we are huge proponents of your best health. And there’s some pretty great science and testimonials out there to support the idea that being good to others is very much being good to ourselves. The person doing the act of kindness benefits as much or more than the individual on the receiving end!

In case you need a kickstart to your week of behaving inspirationally, we recommend this source as one of the many articles you can find on the internet with suggestions for random acts big and small. Remember, kindness can be as free and simple as a hug or smile, as inexpensive as a cup of coffee or as generous as a large tip. What’s important is making someone else feel good (and yourself in the process). Enjoy your exceptionally kind week!
